The Minutes of the Greneral Meeting of the 5th April were
read and confirmed.
Miss Catherine Alice Eaisiu, D.Sc, was admitted a Fellow.
Mr. Henry Eobert Ivnipe, LL. B.Cantab., and Miss Evelyn
Janie "Welsford, were proposed as Fellows.
Mr. Dhirendra Lai Day, M.A., B.Sc, and Colonel John William
Terbury, were elected Fellows ; and Professor Oscar Hertwig, of
Berlin, and Professor Henry Fairfield Osborn, of jN'ew York, were
elected Foreign Members.
The Peesident exhibited a tube of small pearls obtained from
Mytihis echdis at Port Erin a short time previously.
Dr. D. H. Scott, F.E.S., Sec.L.S., then resumed the discussion
on the " Origin of Gymnosperms " adjom*ned from the loth March,
by an address on " The Affinities of Pteridosperms and Gymnosperms."

The President having contributed a few remarks, then invited
Mr. Boyd Thomson, of Toronto, who was present as a visitor, to
open the general discussion. He was followed bv Mr. William
Carruthers, F.E.S., Prof. F. E.Weiss, Dr. A. B. Eeudle, Mr.W. C.
Worsdell, and Miss E, N. Thomas (a visitor). Prof. F. W. Oliver,
F.E.S., and Mr. A. C. Seward, F.E.S., then replied, the President
closins; the discussion.
