The Minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Greneral Meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 5th April were<br />

read and confirmed.<br />

Miss Ca<strong>the</strong>rine Alice Eaisiu, D.Sc, was admitted a Fellow.<br />

Mr. Henry Eobert Ivnipe, LL. B.Cantab., and Miss Evelyn<br />

Janie "Welsford, were proposed as Fellows.<br />

Mr. Dhirendra Lai Day, M.A., B.Sc, and Colonel John William<br />

Terbury, were elected Fellows ; and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Oscar Hertwig, <strong>of</strong><br />

Berlin, and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Henry Fairfield Osborn, <strong>of</strong> jN'ew York, were<br />

elected Foreign Members.<br />

The Peesident exhibited a tube <strong>of</strong> small pearls obtained from<br />

Mytihis echdis at Port Erin a short time previously.<br />

Dr. D. H. Scott, F.E.S., Sec.L.S., <strong>the</strong>n resumed <strong>the</strong> discussion<br />

on <strong>the</strong> " Origin <strong>of</strong> Gymnosperms " adjom*ned from <strong>the</strong> loth March,<br />

by an address on " The Affinities <strong>of</strong> Pteridosperms and Gymnosperms."<br />

The President having contributed a few remarks, <strong>the</strong>n invited<br />

Mr. Boyd Thomson, <strong>of</strong> Toronto, who was present as a visitor, to<br />

open <strong>the</strong> general discussion. He was followed bv Mr. William<br />

Carru<strong>the</strong>rs, F.E.S., Pr<strong>of</strong>. F. E.Weiss, Dr. A. B. Eeudle, Mr.W. C.<br />

Worsdell, and Miss E, N. Thomas (a visitor). Pr<strong>of</strong>. F. W. Oliver,<br />

F.E.S., and Mr. A. C. Seward, F.E.S., <strong>the</strong>n replied, <strong>the</strong> President<br />

closins; <strong>the</strong> discussion.<br />
