7.2.1 Methodology<br />

<strong>The</strong> literature for rehabilitation pathways after LEA was explored.<br />
First examples of pathways were searched on the website of evidence based medic<strong>in</strong>e<br />
of KU Leuven.<br />
<strong>The</strong>re was a l<strong>in</strong>k to the website www.consorta.com. <strong>The</strong> comb<strong>in</strong>ations “cl<strong>in</strong>ical pathway<br />
and amputation”, “cl<strong>in</strong>ical pathway and amputee”, “critical pathway and amputation” and<br />
“critical pathway and amputee”, were searched. No results were found.<br />
<strong>The</strong> website of NHS <strong>in</strong> the U.K. v was searched on the topic: “Protocols and Care<br />
pathways”. Under the head<strong>in</strong>g “Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Department” one reference to “amputation leg”<br />
was found. Th<strong>is</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical pathway was <strong>in</strong>cluded. But the authors remarked that the<br />
