6.3.1 Red Hat Kickstart<br />
Red Hat provides a utility called redhat-config-kickstart to assist with the<br />
creation of Kickstart files. When you launch this utility, you see the Kickstart<br />
Configurator window (Figure 6-5).<br />

<strong>The</strong> separate sections of this application allow you to specify different attributes<br />
of the installation.<br />
► Basic Configuration<br />
You can configure language support, keyboard, mouse, and root password<br />
here. You may also specify whether you prefer a text installation instead of a<br />
graphical installation. Lastly you may choose if the system should reboot after<br />
the automated installation is complete.<br />
► Installation Method<br />
You can choose an upgrade or clean installation here. An upgrade usually<br />
allows the preservation of existing data by upgrading the installed applications<br />
