<strong>The</strong> Management Module is connected to each blade server and I/O module via<br />

management buses embedded in the <strong>BladeCenter</strong> chassis midplanes. <strong>The</strong><br />

Management Module uses these connections to provide service processor<br />

functionality in conjunction with the Blade Systems Management Processor<br />

(BSMP) on each blade server.<br />

When using the SoL remote text console function, the Management Module also<br />

uses a virtual LAN (VLAN) provided by the LAN switch module installed in I/O<br />

module bay 1 to communicate with each blade server. This VLAN is not<br />

accessible externally.<br />

Each Management Module is equipped with several connectors, as illustrated in<br />

Figure 2-5.<br />
