Under the procedures and notes shown in Figure 28.4-1 of ASCE 7-10, end zones extend a<br />

minimum of 3 ft at each end of the wall. For long or tall walls, end zone lengths are based on<br />

10 percent of the least horizontal dimension or 40 percent of the mean roof height, whichever is<br />

smaller, but not less than either 4 percent of the least horizontal dimension or 3 ft at each end of<br />

the wall. The end zone width where the pressures are applied is 3 ft.<br />
