Fruit, <strong>of</strong> that we must now eat, and live in <strong>the</strong> h Woman.<br />

36. Thus I give you accurately to understand what Man is,<br />

and what Man sows, and what grows in <strong>the</strong> Seed, viz. three<br />

Kingdoms, as is abovementioned; and seeing <strong>the</strong> three Kingdoms<br />

are thus sown, so are <strong>the</strong>y in like Manner before <strong>the</strong> Tree <strong>of</strong><br />

Temptation; and <strong>the</strong>re begins <strong>the</strong> Struggling and great Strife;<br />

<strong>the</strong>re stands <strong>the</strong> three Kingdoms in one ano<strong>the</strong>r. The Element<br />

in Paradise will keep <strong>the</strong> pure Mind and Will, which stands in<br />

<strong>the</strong> Love in <strong>the</strong> Tincture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Seed; and <strong>the</strong> outward Elements,<br />

viz. that which went forth from <strong>the</strong> Element, will have <strong>the</strong> Element,<br />

and mix itself <strong>the</strong>rewith; and <strong>the</strong>n comes <strong>the</strong> outward<br />

Fierceness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Stars, and draws it toge<strong>the</strong>r i with <strong>the</strong> outward<br />

Fiat, and sets itself [in <strong>the</strong> Rule or Dominion,] whereby <strong>the</strong><br />

inward Will in <strong>the</strong> Love toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong> Element and <strong>the</strong><br />

Paradise becomes darkened; and <strong>the</strong> Love in <strong>the</strong> Paradise goes<br />

into its E<strong>the</strong>r, and is extinguished in <strong>the</strong> Tincture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Seed;<br />

and <strong>the</strong> heavenly Center goes under, for it passes into its Principle.<br />

37. And <strong>the</strong>n comes <strong>the</strong> Woman with her stopped [or congealed]<br />

Blood, with <strong>the</strong> Stars and Elements, and sets herself in<br />

[<strong>the</strong> Dominion.] And here is <strong>the</strong> paradisical Death, where Adam<br />

in <strong>the</strong> living Body died; that is, he died [as] to Paradise and <strong>the</strong><br />

Element, and lived to <strong>the</strong> Sun, Stars, and <strong>the</strong> outward Elements;<br />

concerning which, God said to him, That Day thou eatest <strong>of</strong><br />

Good and Evil, thou shalt die <strong>the</strong> Death; and this is <strong>the</strong> Gate <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> first Death in <strong>the</strong> Paradise, in which now Man lives in <strong>the</strong><br />

elementary Woman <strong>of</strong> this World in <strong>the</strong> Corruptibility.<br />

38. And it highly concerns us to know and apprehend, that<br />

when <strong>the</strong> Seed is sown in <strong>the</strong> Matrix, and that it is drawn toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

h In <strong>the</strong> divided Nature, and in <strong>the</strong> earthly Tabernacle, and feed and multiply <strong>the</strong>rein.<br />

i Or by.<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Fiat (when <strong>the</strong> Stars and <strong>the</strong> outward Elements<br />

set <strong>the</strong>mselves in [<strong>the</strong> Dominion,] and that <strong>the</strong> Love and Meekness<br />

is extinguished; for <strong>the</strong>re comes to be a fierce Substance in<br />

<strong>the</strong> Stopping [or Congealing] <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tincture) that before <strong>the</strong><br />

Kindling <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Light <strong>of</strong> Life, in <strong>the</strong> Child, <strong>the</strong>re is no heavenly<br />

Creature. And although k it be figured [or shaped] with all <strong>the</strong><br />

Forms [or Parts] <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Body, yet notwithstanding <strong>the</strong> heavenly<br />

Image is not <strong>the</strong>rein, but <strong>the</strong> bestial. And if that Body perishes<br />

[corrupts, or breaks] before <strong>the</strong> Kindling <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Spirit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Soul in <strong>the</strong> springing up <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Life, <strong>the</strong>n nothing <strong>of</strong> this Figure<br />

appears before God on <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Restitution, but its Shadow<br />

and Shape; for it has yet had no Spirit.<br />

39. This Figure does not (as many judge) go into <strong>the</strong> l Abyss,<br />

but as <strong>the</strong> Parents were, so is also <strong>the</strong>ir Figure; for this Figure<br />

is <strong>the</strong> Parent’s, till <strong>the</strong> Kindling <strong>of</strong> its Life, and <strong>the</strong>n it is no more
