3.1 Installing pinion shaft and differential<br />
3.1.1 Adding parts to differential<br />
Install the lower bevel gear with flange<br />
retaining and shim washers and the upper<br />
bevel gear with shim washer into the<br />
differential cage, working through the<br />
inspection aperture.<br />
Raise the upper bevel gear and insert the<br />
planetary gears with thrust washer<br />
through the inspection aperture.<br />
Turn the planetary gears through 90°<br />
round the differential axis and locate in<br />
position with the pin.<br />
Important:<br />
The bevel and planetary gears must be paired<br />
with their shim washers and installed exactly<br />
as they were previously removed.<br />
Clamp fixture 5x46 002 167 in the vice,<br />
insert differential into fixture and secure<br />
crown wheel 09.110 with 12 screws<br />
09.120 to differential cage 09.070, using<br />
Quantec EMS ISI No. 7086 yield-limit<br />
controlled wrench.<br />
Important:<br />
Note screw connection specification,<br />
Chapter 1.3<br />
(Wrench operation is explained during<br />
training.)<br />
Install inner bearing races 35.010/150,<br />
35.010/120 with sleeves 5x46 002<br />
220/221 on the differential in the mandrel<br />
press.<br />
