4.8 Functional check<br />

4.8.1 Checking backlash,<br />

Torsen II (angle)<br />

Clamp retaining fixture 5x46 002 262<br />

into the vice.<br />

Position Torsen II in retaining fixture<br />

with screw heads upwards.<br />

Insert adapted with angle washer 5p95<br />

000 603 into the rear sun gear splines.<br />

Place the torque wrench on the adapter<br />

with angle measuring disc and set to “0”<br />

while pressing the wrench lightly against<br />

the stop in a clockwise direction.<br />

Turn the torqur wrench clockwise until a<br />

torque of 10 Nm is reached.<br />

Read off the angle M W at the scale on<br />

the angle measuring disc.<br />

(Scale: 0.5° between markings)<br />

Max. angle = 2.8° (bei 10 Nm).<br />

If a higher angle reading is obtained,<br />

renew Torsen II.<br />

Important:<br />

Include play S PW - if present - between<br />

the adapter and the torque wrench in the<br />

angle calculation. Determine S PW by<br />

trial and error.<br />

Calculation:<br />

M WR = M W - S PW<br />
