Measles is an extremely contagious viral <strong>in</strong>fection spread by the respiratory route. Figure 1 shows<br />

the course of measles from time of exposure to recovery from the <strong>in</strong>fection.<br />

After recovery from measles, the <strong>in</strong>fected <strong>in</strong>dividual develops immunity or resistance to re<strong>in</strong>fection.<br />

Figure 1 shows the development of immunity <strong>in</strong>dicated by the antibody level.<br />
