CONDITIONS REQUIRING PERMITS, AUTHORIZATIONS OR FILINGS:
Owners of new or existing hazardous waste management facilities are required to register
annually with ADEQ. Registration is required for the following:
- Any facility that received waste for treatment or storage for more than ten days, or for
disposal during the proceeding calendar year.
- Any hazardous waste transporter that either delivered or picked up hazardous waste in the
State of Arizona.
- Any generator of hazardous waste that generated over 100 kilograms of hazardous waste
in any month during the proceeding calendar year.
- Any facility that received 50 or more tons per year of hazardous waste for material
resource recovery, generated by a facility not owned by the receiving facility.
EXEMPTIONS:
None
FEES:
The following fees apply and are due annually by March 1:
- For treatment, storage, and disposal facilities, the fee is $1,500 plus $2 per ton of
hazardous waste received.
- For hazardous waste transporters, the fee is $200.
- For large quantity generators, the fee is $1,500 plus $2 per ton of hazardous waste
received, up to a maximum of $10,000 per site or $25,000 per entity.
AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME:
Usual processing time is four weeks.
