PERMITS, AUTHORIZATIONS OR FILINGS:<br />

Professional Registration<br />

This department does not issue permits, but licenses professionals who perform certain<br />

mining-related tasks. The BTR function is to regulate certain professions including architects;<br />

assayers, certified remediation specialists, drug laboratory site remediation firms, supervisors<br />

and workers, engineers, geologists, home inspectors, landscape architects, and surveyors by<br />

issuing certificates and seals of professional registration and establishing rules of professional<br />

conduct for registrants.<br />

A.R.S. § 32-101<br />

ROLE OF BTR:<br />

Some mining permitting agencies require hydrologic, geologic and engineering reports,<br />

studies, drawings and maps, specifications, analyses or related data submitted to support the<br />

evaluation of applications for permits to be signed and sealed by a professional geologist or<br />

qualified professional engineer who is registered in the State of Arizona.<br />
