CONDITIONS REQUIRING PERMITS, AUTHORIZATIONS OR FILINGS:<br />
A company that wishes to operate a fuel cycle material facility must submit an application to<br />
the MRC. This application must demonstrate how the facility will be operated to ensure<br />
adequate safety and safeguards in accordance with NRC licensing regulations. NRC reviews<br />
the application according to procedures and criteria documented in a Standard Review Plan. If<br />
the application is approved, a license is issued. The license contains the amount and type of<br />
material that the facility is allowed to possess and any special conditions imposed by the<br />
MRC. Fuel cycle material licenses are typically issued for 10 years.<br />

None<br />
FEES:<br />
$18,700 for a Class I or Class II. A Class I license includes mill licenses issued for the<br />
extraction of uranium ore. A Class II license includes solution mining licenses (In-situ and<br />
heap leach) issued for the extraction of uranium from uranium ores including research and<br />
development licenses. Special circumstances may incur additional charges prorated at $259<br />
per hour.<br />
AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME:<br />
Review time depends on the completeness of information provided. Minimum processing<br />
time is two years.<br />
