The Laboratory <strong>of</strong> Electronics <strong>of</strong> Low-Dimensional Structures (IEEN “D. Ghitu “) is engaged in<br />
fundamental and applied research in the following directions :<br />
• Quantum interference effects in low-dimensional structures for their further applications in spintronics.<br />
• Semimetal and semiconductor thermoelectric materials based on low-dimensional structures.<br />
• Lifshits electron topological transitions induced by external action for optimizing the thermoelectric<br />
efficiency <strong>of</strong> materials based on semimetals and its’ alloys.<br />
• Microsized thermoelectric energy converters and magnetoresistive sensors based on semimetal and<br />
semiconductor microwires and nanowires.<br />
