BRIEf dESCRIpTIon of ThE oRganIzaTIon
The Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS) is an organization from the science and
innovation field, created as a result of merging the Institute of Economic Research of the Academy of
Science of Moldova and the National Institute of Economy and Information of the Ministry of Economy
and Trade. Within IEFS there are five working services and 6 departments : “Policies and mechanisms of
economic growth”; “Agro-food economics and rural development”; “ Financial and monetary policies”;
“Social-economic statistics”; “Policies of social development “; “Analytical and informational studies”. At
the moment, the Institute employs 105 persons.

• The National strategy about the politics of the employment of the labour force during the years 2007

scientifically argued, included into the National Strategy of Demographic Security in Moldova;
• The mechanism of determination of allowable values for key demographic security indicators on the
basis of modelling the existing indicators;
• The six linear multifactorial models of the key demographic security indicators.
• The type-model of the passport, the integral territorial index’s model of the demographic security .

• Participation in the elaboration of the National Programme on Ensuring Gender Equality during 2010-
2015 ( Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova);
• Participation in the sub-regional UNIFEM Programme on Gender-sensitive budgeting in Moldova.
