The laboratory was created in 1953 as a component to the Institute of Pedology, Agrochemistry and Soil
Protection (IPASP). Its main research domains include the study of soils’ ameliorative capacities, water
quality for irrigation purposes and soil salinity. The laboratory staff includes 8 researchers. Research
results are implemented at the experimental crop fields in commune Cozesti, district Telenesti; commune
Tarigrad, district Drochia; and on the agricultural fields of farmers, in different parts of Moldova.
