BRIEf dESCRIpTIon of ThE oRganIzaTIon
The Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS) is an organization from the science and
innovation field, created as a result of merging the Institute of Economic Research of the Academy of
Science of Moldova and the National Institute of Economy and Information of the Ministry of Economy
and Trade.
Within IEFS there are five working services and 6 departments :
“Policies and mechanisms of economic growth”; “Agro-food economics and rural development”;
“Financial and monetary policies”; “Social-economic statistics”; “Policies of social development “;
“Analytical and informational studies”. At the moment, the Institute employs 105 persons.

• Recommendations on the implementation of some innovation mechanisms on the securities market
of Moldova;
• Recommendations regarding improvement measures of financing science in Moldova.
