BRIEf dESCRIpTIon <strong>of</strong> ThE oRganIzaTIon<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> Endocrinology within the Scientific Laboratory has 8 collaborators, <strong>from</strong> which there is 1<br />
university pr<strong>of</strong>essor and 4 associate pr<strong>of</strong>essors. All collaborators are Doctors <strong>of</strong> Medicine.<br />
Scientific directions are focused on the mechanisms <strong>of</strong> development <strong>of</strong> autoimmune endocrine<br />
pathologies, such as type 1 diabetes, autoimmune thyroid diseases, autoimmune syndrome polyglandular.<br />

The Department developed competencies in issues as incidence <strong>of</strong> endocrine diseases in the country,<br />
pathogenetic factors, development <strong>of</strong> disease symptoms, complications. Treatment methods have been<br />
adapted, taking into account the pathogenic factors. The investigation results have been reflected in two<br />
manuals and methodical recommendations.<br />
Department staff participate in national and international conferences, have publications in national and<br />
international scientific journals.<br />
