BRIEf dESCRIpTIon <strong>of</strong> ThE oRganIzaTIon<br />
The Institute <strong>of</strong> Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS) is an organization in the science and innovation<br />
field, created as a result <strong>of</strong> merging the Institute <strong>of</strong> Economic <strong>Research</strong> <strong>of</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong> Science <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Moldova</strong> and the National Institute <strong>of</strong> Economy and Information <strong>of</strong> the Ministry <strong>of</strong> Economy and<br />
Trade. Within IEFS there are 5 working services and 6 departments : “Policies and mechanisms <strong>of</strong><br />
economic growth”; “Agro-food economics and rural development”; “Financial and monetary policies”;<br />
“Social-economic statistics”; “Policies <strong>of</strong> social development”; “Analytical and informational studies”. At<br />
the moment, the Institute employs 105 persons.<br />

the Complex <strong>of</strong> joint measures for increasing the food security <strong>of</strong> the CIS;<br />
• Elaborates the draft food security strategy.<br />
