The main direction <strong>of</strong> the laboratory activities is to create corn hybrids FAO 300-500; it has about 800<br />
sources <strong>of</strong> genetic material. The lab possesses about 100 sources <strong>of</strong> genetic material to create food maize.<br />
There are 12 people working in the laboratory<br />
In the last five years 13 corn hybrids have been cultivated in <strong>Moldova</strong>, Belarus, and Russia.<br />

The laboratory is the coauthor <strong>of</strong> all commercial and new maize hybrids developed in the institute;it has<br />
more than 60 certificates <strong>of</strong> plant varieties, including 16 food corn hybrids.
