The SMEs & Entrepreneurship’s <strong>Research</strong> Group is part <strong>of</strong> the department <strong>of</strong> Policies and Mechanisms<br />
<strong>of</strong> Economic Growth <strong>of</strong> the Institute <strong>of</strong> Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS).<br />
The 5 researchers involved in this group have achieved the following results within scientific projects<br />
developed during the last 5 years : recommendations for policy and methodical materials for creation<br />
and development <strong>of</strong> SMEs clusters in <strong>Moldova</strong>; methodology for analysis and estimation <strong>of</strong> the business<br />
environment and investment; mechanisms for SMEs support, exporting own production and services;<br />
monitoring <strong>of</strong> situation in SMEs sector and suggestions for policy makers.<br />

Members <strong>of</strong> the group participated in 6 international projects on SMEs, among them :<br />
• BSEC-KAS-ERENET. Strengthening the private SME sector and contribution to economic growth<br />
based on sustainable entrepreneurship in the economies <strong>of</strong> the Organization <strong>of</strong> the Black Sea Economic<br />
Cooperation (2010-2011);<br />
• INTAS 04-79-6991. Cross-border Cooperation and Partnership in selected NIS countries and the<br />
Consequences <strong>of</strong> EU- Enlargement : Fostering Entrepreneurship in the Ukraine, Belarus and <strong>Moldova</strong><br />
(2005-2007).<br />
During the international projects’ implementation, members <strong>of</strong> the group have cooperated with partners<br />
<strong>from</strong> both EU and CIS countries.
