BRIEf dESCRIpTIon <strong>of</strong> ThE oRganIzaTIon<br />
The Laboratory <strong>of</strong> Mammal Ecology is a prestigious scientific centre, which coordinates and accomplishes<br />
fundamental and applied scientific researches, trains highly qualified personnel in the branches <strong>of</strong><br />
theriology, herpetology, mammal ecology and behaviour. There are 14 researchers and specialists in the<br />
field <strong>of</strong> mammal, reptile and amphibian study that activate within the lab. In the last 5 years, there have<br />
been published 2 monographs, 7 manuals, 3 brochures and about 100 scientific papers. A concept <strong>of</strong><br />
adaptive modifications <strong>of</strong> animal populations was also proposed and researched.<br />

• Population status monitoring <strong>of</strong> endangered vertebrate animal species and recommendations towards<br />
