BRIEf dESCRIpTIon of ThE oRganIzaTIon
The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Agroecology is engaged in educational and research activities.
The Faculty of Agroecology is directed toward breeding of field crops and developing sustainable farming
systems. The number of staff at the faculty is 20 people, from which 7 are Doctors of Agricultural Sciences.
Results obtained in long-term field experiments with different crop rotations, monoculture, systems of
soil tillage and fertilization - conducted together with the Research Institute of Field Crops “Selectia”allowed
to find practical solutions for the transition to a sustainable agriculture. More than 150 students
submitted their dissertations using the experimental data obtained in our research.

Our researches are connected with plant breeding programmes for different field crops, sustainable
farming systems which include : crop rotation, systems of fertilization and soil tillage, irrigation, weed
