BRIEf dESCRIpTIon <strong>of</strong> ThE oRganIzaTIon<br />
The Institute <strong>of</strong> Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS) is an organization <strong>from</strong> the science and<br />
innovation field, created as a result <strong>of</strong> merging the Institute <strong>of</strong> Economic <strong>Research</strong> <strong>of</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong><br />
Science <strong>of</strong> <strong>Moldova</strong> and the National Institute <strong>of</strong> Economy and Information <strong>of</strong> the Ministry <strong>of</strong> Economy<br />
and Trade.<br />
Within IEFS there are five working services and 6 departments : “Policies and mechanisms <strong>of</strong> economic<br />
growth”; “Agro-food economics and rural development”; “Financial and monetary policies”; “Socialeconomic<br />
statistics”; “Policies <strong>of</strong> social development “; “Analytical and informational studies”. At the<br />
moment, the Institute employs 105 persons.<br />
