group but very small sample size.
Reduction in mortality in the iodized oil
group during the first 2 months of follow-up
and a delay in the mean time to death
among infants who died in the iodized oil
group compared with infants who died in
the placebo group.
Infant mortality rates decreased in the
treated areas. Similar results were seen for
neonatal mortality.
