Testing<br />
The homebound teacher will administer state assessments to eligible students.<br />
Miscellaneous<br />
1. Homebound Services are provided within the <strong>Aldine</strong> <strong>Independent</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong><br />
boundaries.<br />
2. Homebound instructors will not enter situations that are dangerous. This includes a home<br />
where any person has an infectious or contagious condition.<br />
3. An adult must be present in the home with the student during the entire provision of<br />
Homebound Services. This is required even if the student is age 18 or older.<br />
Transition from GEH to the classroom<br />
1. Length of the transition period must be determined by the GEH committee based on the<br />
student’s current medical information.<br />
2. ADA eligibility shifts back to the requirements of the 2-4 hour rule once the student has<br />
completed the transition period as determined by the GEH committee.<br />
AA. SPECIAL PROGRAMS<br />
1. STAAR: Students who are not mastering the STAAR objectives in reading, writing, and/or<br />
mathematics may participate in the STAAR Intervention activities/programs.<br />
2. TITLE I: All schools in <strong>Aldine</strong> ISD have school-wide Title I programs. All teachers and<br />
students may benefit from the program funds with an emphasis being given to those students<br />
needing instructional assistance in language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies. The<br />
purpose of the Title I, Part A program is to enable schools to provide opportunities for children<br />
served to acquire the knowledge and skills contained in the state content standards and to meet<br />
the state performance standards developed for all children.<br />
3. SNAPP Program: SNAPP (Students Need a Pat and a Push) is a program designed to increase<br />
graduation rates for at-risk students. Through early identification, the SNAPP program can<br />
reinforce successful and appropriate behavior. Students will be provided support through<br />
individual, group, and peer counseling.<br />
4. VISA Program: VISA (Volunteers In <strong>School</strong>s in <strong>Aldine</strong>) is a program designed to involve<br />
parents in school.<br />
5. Gifted/Talented Program/Encounters: For students who have been identified as having<br />
specific academic aptitude in mathematics, language arts, social studies and/or science are<br />
provided special instruction. The lessons are differentiated and individualized.<br />
AB. TRANSITIONAL INFORMATION FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL TO 9 th GRADE CAMPUS<br />
The following items are to be furnished to the receiving high school before the beginning of the next<br />
school year.<br />
A. Middle school permanent record cards.<br />
Labels for all assessments affixed to middle school permanent record card.<br />
B. The following lists of students are required:<br />
1. Promoted students<br />
2. Special education program (e.g., life skills, resource, inclusion)<br />
3. ESL<br />
4. G/T (specify math, language arts, social studies, or science)<br />
5. Placed<br />
6. Retained<br />
7. Foreign language credit (second year students only)<br />
8. Algebra I/Geometry<br />
9. Accelerated list by subject area<br />
10. List of personal graduation plan students<br />
