charge for field trips. Funds collected from students can only be used to pay for field trip expenses<br />

and cannot be transferred to other accounts. All funds must be receipted through <strong>Aldine</strong>.<br />

Every child needs written parental permission before going on a trip.<br />

An approved list of field trips is maintained by the area superintendent.<br />

Trips should be scheduled from October through April in order to alleviate transportation<br />

problems. Plan to schedule field trips on Tuesday through Thursday. Exceptions must be<br />

approved by area superintendent.<br />

Field trips are not to be extended beyond 100 miles from <strong>Aldine</strong> ISD.<br />

EC/PK students do not participate in overnight field trips.<br />

Children not enrolled in the class/grade/school may not ride the bus.<br />

Adults chosen to serve as sponsors in a supervisory capacity may ride the school bus.<br />

Field trips funded through special program funds must meet the requirements of the funding<br />

source. Lesson plans must document pre and post educational field trip activities.<br />

Campuses must provide transportation for all students eligible to go on field trips, ie wheelchair<br />

bus.<br />

Any parent or adult who volunteers regularly with students must have a criminal background<br />

check.<br />

Parents who volunteer as chaperones on field trips must go through the Raptor system before<br />

going on a field trip.<br />

R. TESTING PROGRAM<br />

1. Developmental Test<br />

S. PAID ASSEMBLIES<br />

A Pre-<strong>School</strong> Screener will be administered in the fall and in the spring.<br />

Head Start will administer NRS in accordance with Head Start Federal Guidelines (fall &<br />

spring).<br />

Pre-IPT will be given upon enrollment to determine Bilingual/ESL program eligibility.<br />

Special education assessment implemented by PBAT or Campus Assessment Specialist as<br />

determined by needs of the child.<br />

Paid assemblies and/or entertainment will be approved by the principal. All schools will be limited<br />

to three paid assemblies involving outside entertainment. Grant funds cannot be used to provide<br />

additional paid assemblies. It will be the principal's responsibility to determine that only quality<br />

entertainment is used.<br />

Principals are encouraged to set up a yearly calendar and schedule all such assemblies for the entire<br />

year. (Avoid having any two paid assemblies close together.) The calendar of activities and<br />

assemblies for the entire year may then be printed and distributed early in the fall semester.<br />

Programs, assemblies, concerts, plays, etc., from other schools in the district, must be scheduled<br />

through all involved principals.<br />

Access to schools will be limited to:<br />

salespeople, vendors, agents, etc. who are directly involved in school fundraisers or other<br />

school functions;<br />
