4. Student Work<br />

a. The student’s teachers must complete the <strong>Teacher</strong> Assignment Form (GEH # 4) each<br />

week and provide to the Homebound <strong>Teacher</strong>s.<br />

b. The student’s teachers must provide the assignments and the materials for the<br />

assignments weekly to the Homebound <strong>Teacher</strong>s.<br />

c. When writing lesson plans for the week for the student on homebound, teachers must<br />

take into consideration the student is receiving much less direct instructional time due to<br />

the severity of the student’s illness/injury than when the student is attending school for<br />

instruction.<br />

Miscellaneous<br />

1. Homebound Services are provided within the <strong>Aldine</strong> <strong>Independent</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> boundaries.<br />

2. Homebound instructors will not enter situations that are dangerous. This includes a home where<br />

any person has an infectious or contagious condition.<br />

3. An adult must be present in the home with the student during the entire provision of<br />

Homebound Services. This is required even if the student is age 18 or older.<br />

Transition from GEH to the classroom<br />

1. Length of the transition period must be determined by the GEH committee based on the<br />

student’s current medical information.<br />

2. ADA eligibility shifts back to the requirements of the 2-4 hour rule once the student has<br />

completed the transition period as determined by the GEH committee.<br />

Y. TRANSITIONAL INFORMATION<br />

EC/PK to Elementary<br />

1. Transitional information must be provided to parents at the end of the child’s PK year prior<br />

to going to the elementary campus.<br />

2. Placement information is provided to elementary campuses.<br />

3. Cumulative folders, health folders, ESL/Bil/special education folders will be delivered to<br />

appropriate elementary campuses.<br />

4. The following lists of students are required:<br />

a. special education program (e.g., life skills, resource, inclusion)<br />

b. ESL/Bilingual<br />

Z. PARTY POLICIES<br />

THESE ARE THE ONLY SCHOOL PARTIES ALLOWED FOR STUDENTS.<br />

Winter - A one hour party with refreshments can be held the last hour of the school day on the last<br />

day of classes prior to the mid-winter break.<br />

Valentine's Day - Valentines may be exchanged by the students. No refreshments will be permitted.<br />

Easter – pre-kindergarten is allowed to have Easter egg hunts on the school campus. Simple<br />

refreshments may be served the last thirty minutes of the day.<br />

Surprise parties for students or teachers are not permitted.<br />

Do not send cupcakes, cookies, cakes, candy, balloon bouquets or flowers to celebrate special<br />

occasions.<br />
