3. An adult must be present in the home with the student during the entire provision of<br />

Homebound Services. This is required even if the student is age 18 or older.<br />

Transition from GEH to the classroom<br />

1. Length of the transition period must be determined by the GEH committee based on the<br />

student’s current medical information.<br />

2. ADA eligibility shifts back to the requirements of the 2-4 hour rule once the student has<br />

completed the transition period as determined by the GEH committee.<br />

AD. OVERAGE TUITION<br />

Students who are classified as a senior and who experience their 21 st birthday prior to September 1,<br />

will be given the opportunity to complete their senior year by paying tuition of $205 per month.<br />

This tuition charge may be waived by the superintendent of schools when the request for waiver is<br />

received in writing from the student. A waiver request must be presented by the student each<br />

semester to the principal of the building, who will then forward the request to the superintendent of<br />

schools.<br />

There are several conditions which must be met in order for the waiver of tuition to be granted:<br />

1. Student must be able to obtain a diploma within one calendar year after turning 21 years of<br />

age.<br />

2. Student must have good attendance at the time of the waiver request and must continue to<br />

have good attendance until completion.<br />

3. Student must be passing all classes at the time of the waiver request and must continue to<br />

make passing grades until completion.<br />

4. Student must live in <strong>Aldine</strong> <strong>Independent</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> and have attended an <strong>Aldine</strong><br />

school for the two previous years.<br />

5. Student must have passed two portions of the TAKS test with reasonable expectations that<br />

the other three portions will be passed.<br />

6. Student must not have any major discipline problems at the time of the waiver request and<br />

must continue to have good discipline until completion.<br />

7. Student must have shown a willingness to take advantage of the special programs offered<br />

i.e. tutorials.<br />

If the waiver of tuition is granted, the student will receive a letter from the superintendent of schools.<br />

If the waiver is not granted, the student will be responsible for paying the tuition of $205 per month<br />

for each month of school attended beyond the student’s 21 st birthday. This tuition must be paid in<br />

full prior to the issuance of the student’s diploma.<br />

Students in special education are eligible for educational services without paying tuition through the<br />

school year of the student’s 22 nd year, unless the student has graduated with a regular diploma.<br />

AE. PARENT BOOSTER CLUBS<br />

Parent booster groups should obtain a copy of the district’s “UIL Booster Club <strong>Handbook</strong>” from<br />

their respective Athletic, CTE or Performing Arts departments. Parent clubs are encouraged to exist<br />

as an aid to the school district and individual schools under the guidance of the school's<br />

administration. The parent club guidelines are as follows:<br />

1. Each club must have a constitution that sets forth the club's purpose and operational procedures.<br />

The constitution must clearly recognize the principal's leadership and authoritative position with<br />

respect to the club.<br />

2. Each club must submit a budget to the principal for approval prior to the first day of classes each<br />

school year. The budget must include a list of expected expenses (projects) and an estimate of<br />

income along with the income source. Expenditures may not exceed income.<br />

3. Parent club money must be deposited in the school's agency account to be expended under the<br />

principal's supervision. No expenditure of parent club money can be made without written<br />
