E. By the end of the school year any changes in a ninth grade student's status will be communicated<br />

in writing to the high school campus.<br />

AI. STUDENT TRANSFER<br />

Students transferring from one school to another within the <strong>Aldine</strong> district will have permanent<br />

records sent to the receiving school.<br />

AJ. ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS<br />

Students who have been home schooled or from non-accredited (private) schools.<br />

To determine grade placement for these students, a school committee will use a variety of methods.<br />

These methods may include standardized tests, benchmark tests, released TAKS test, student<br />

portfolios, etc.<br />

AK. AWARDS<br />

A. Those who have missed no days for the school year (perfect attendance); and<br />

B. Additional awards may be given to other outstanding students at the discretion of the principal.<br />

AL. HONOR ROLL/MERIT ROLL<br />

Each six weeks, students in <strong>Aldine</strong> are recognized for their academic excellence by their selection to<br />

the Honor Roll or Merit Roll. The district uses the following guidelines in each school throughout<br />

the district:<br />

Students receiving all A’s to all A’s and up to 2 B’s will be placed on the Honor Roll.<br />

Students receiving all A’s and 3 or more B’s will be placed on the Merit Roll.<br />

AM. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY FOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES<br />

I. Check all extra-curricular students' grades at the end of the 1 st six weeks:<br />

October 5………………….………six-week eligibility check<br />

October 12………………………..loss/gain eligibility (end of the school day)<br />

II. Check all extra-curricular students' grades at the end of each nine week grading period:<br />

a. If passing, check again at the end of each nine week grading period:<br />

March 28…….…..…..…nine-week grading period ends<br />

b. If failing, at nine-week grading period, check grades each three weeks until student is<br />
