1.2 STRUCTURE OF THIS DCP (continued) Part 6: Site Design This part provides controls concerning site design and lay out with particular attention to the relationship with the site analysis and to landscaping, earthworks and slope. The section provides controls which minimise development impact on the natural landscape of the site and controls for bushland protection which are to be incorporated in the early design stages of a site, and planting controls which propose site appropriate plantings. The second section of this part provides controls on managing excavation and any earth works on a site and designing for sloping sites. Part 7: Access and Parking Issues addressed in this part include equitable access and pedestrian movement, vehicle access, parking and bicycle facilities. Part 8: Building Design and Sustainability This part provides general development controls for green buildings, heritage conservation, social impact, building materials, roof terraces and podiums, building services, waste management, development near road and rail noise and construction demolition and disposal. Part 9: Office Building- Additional Controls This part includes controls for all offi ce building developments within the Pymble Business Park. These controls are additional to other controls within this DCP. Since offi ce buildings will be the predominant development types in this area the controls seek to provide a cohesive and attractive urban fabric for this precinct by providing high quality building design. Part 10: Signage & Advertising Controls This part includes objectives and controls for signage and advertising structures. This section of the DCP should also be read in conjunction with State Environmental Planning Policy No 64—Advertising and Signage which makes certain signage and advertising permissible as exempt development. Part 11 Land Contamination This part requires the applicant to consider whether the site is contaminated. It contains provisions to ensure that the site is suitable, or can be made suitable, for the proposed development.
