3810 - Managed Addiction Treatment Services (MATS)<br />

Managed Addiction Treatment Services (MATS) is a program that provides case<br />

management services to Medicaid eligible recipients <strong>of</strong> chemical dependence services. The<br />

goal <strong>of</strong> MATS is to assure effective and appropriate access to needed treatment services<br />

and positive treatment outcomes for Medicaid recipients. Services may <strong>in</strong>clude l<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g<br />

recipients with appropriate services, case-specific advocacy and monitor<strong>in</strong>g access to and<br />

utilization <strong>of</strong> services to avoid duplicative services. Case management services will be<br />

provided by the Local Governmental Unit through a partnership between the local mental<br />

hygiene agency and the local department <strong>of</strong> social services (LDSS).<br />

3970 - Recovery Community Centers<br />

Recovery Community Centers utilize peer-to-peer recovery support services to help people<br />

<strong>in</strong>itiate and/or susta<strong>in</strong> recovery from alcohol and drug use disorders as well as provide<br />

support to family members <strong>of</strong> people need<strong>in</strong>g, seek<strong>in</strong>g, or <strong>in</strong> recovery. The goal <strong>of</strong> these<br />

Community Centers is to help persons <strong>in</strong> recovery susta<strong>in</strong> such recovery on a long-term<br />

basis. To meet this goal, each Recovery Community Center will provide needed emotional,<br />

<strong>in</strong>formational, and social support to persons <strong>in</strong> recovery, as well as to their families.<br />

4030 - Residential Chemical Dependency Program for Youth (Short-Term)<br />

A voluntary <strong>in</strong>tensive <strong>in</strong>patient rehabilitation program for youthful clients who require<br />

concentrated therapeutic services <strong>in</strong> a drug-free sett<strong>in</strong>g. It provides active treatment through<br />

multi-discipl<strong>in</strong>ary cl<strong>in</strong>ical services designed to achieve dependence-free discharge to nonresidential<br />

sett<strong>in</strong>gs. The program is part <strong>of</strong> a cont<strong>in</strong>uum <strong>of</strong> care for chemically dependent<br />

youth and may be operated by public, private not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it or proprietary sponsors. The<br />

planned length <strong>of</strong> stay is 45 to 60 days.<br />

4045 - Specialized Services Substance Abuse Programs<br />

Specialized chemical dependence services not def<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> other regulations that must be<br />

provided <strong>in</strong> accord with the OASAS rules, regulations, and requirements.<br />

4060 - Residential Chemically Dependency Program for Youth (Long-Term)
