1650 - Family Support Services (Children and Family)<br />

(Non-Licensed Program)<br />

Family support programs provide an array <strong>of</strong> formal and <strong>in</strong>formal services to support and<br />

empower families with children and adolescents hav<strong>in</strong>g serious emotional disturbances. The<br />

goal <strong>of</strong> family support is to reduce family stress and enhance each family's ability to care for<br />

their child. To do this, family support programs operate on the pr<strong>in</strong>ciples <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividualized care<br />

and recogniz<strong>in</strong>g every child and family is unique <strong>in</strong> their strengths and needs. Connect<strong>in</strong>g family<br />

members to other families with children with serious emotional problems helps families to feel<br />

less isolated and identify their own strengths.<br />

Family support programs ideally provide the follow<strong>in</strong>g four core services: family/peer support,<br />

respite, advocacy, and skill build<strong>in</strong>g/educational opportunities.<br />

1680 – CPEP Crisis Outreach<br />

(Non-Licensed Program - Associated with a Licensed CPEP Program)<br />

A mobile crisis <strong>in</strong>tervention component <strong>of</strong> the CPEP <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g crisis outreach and <strong>in</strong>terim crisis<br />

service visits to <strong>in</strong>dividuals outside an emergency room sett<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong> the community <strong>in</strong> natural (e.g.<br />

homes), structured (e.g., residential programs), or controlled (e.g., <strong>in</strong>structional) environments.<br />

Crisis outreach service visits are emergency mental health services provided outside an<br />

emergency room which <strong>in</strong>clude cl<strong>in</strong>ical assessment and crisis <strong>in</strong>tervention treatment. Interim<br />

crisis service visits are mental health services provided to <strong>in</strong>dividuals who are released from a<br />

CPEP for the purpose <strong>of</strong> facilitat<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>dividual’s community tenure while wait<strong>in</strong>g for the first<br />

post-CPEP visit with a community-based mental health provider.<br />

CPEP crisis outreach and <strong>in</strong>terim crisis service visits are Medicaid reimbursable.<br />

This program is one <strong>of</strong> four program components which, when provided together, form the OMH<br />

licensed Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). The other program<br />

components <strong>of</strong> the CPEP are: CPEP Crisis Intervention (3130), CPEP Extended Observation<br />

Beds (1920) and CPEP Crisis Beds (2600).<br />
