SOMA KRİZİNİ BAKAN YILDIZ YÖNETTİ
Soma faciasında kriz masasını yöneten isim
Enerji ve Tabii Kaynaklar Bakanı Taner
Yıldız oldu. İşçi yakınlarıyla görüşen Yıldız,
bir yandan madencilerin çıkarılması ve yaralıların
tedavi edilmesi ile ilgili tüm süreçleri
yakından takip ederken, diğer yandan faciayla
ilgili gelişmeleri Türk ve dünya kamuoyuyla
paylaştı. Yıldız, Soma faciasıyla ilgili araştırma
önergelerinin görüşülerek kabul edildiği
Meclis’te facianın sebebini ise şu sözlerle
anlattı:
“Türkiye madencilik sektöründeki en önemli
kazalardan bir tanesiydi. Ve o kazada başından
sonuna kadar bütün kurumlarımızla
beraber hep oradaydık. Oraya gelen bütün
bakanlarımızla, yaklaşık 2600 kişiyle beraber
bu kriz yönetilmeye gayret edildi. Kazanın
ardından ailelere manevi desteğin yanında
maddi destek de sağlanmaya başladı.
Zonguldak’ta kömürün ana odağında metan
gazı varken burada kızışma var. Kömür burada
için için yanıyor. Oradaki havanın dolaşımı
aynen insan vücudundaki kirli kanın
dönüp temizlenip tekrar vücuda verilmesi
gibidir. Bu madende de hücrelere sanki kirli
kan verilmiş gibidir. Üretim faaliyeti o ocakta
durdu. Kazanın nedeni idari-adli soruşturmayla
ortaya çıkacak.”

Maden kazası başta Türkiye ve Türki
Cumhuriyetler olmak üzere tüm dünyayı
hüzne boğdu. Cumhurbaşkanı Abdullah
Gül’e, Almanya Cumhurbaşkanı Joachim
Gauck, İsrail Cumhurbaşkanı Şimon Peres,

condolence were

Mentioning the mining accident in Soma
and operations held after it, Prime Minister
Erdogan said “We are closely monitoring the
ongoing administrative and judicial investigations
related to the accident. We initiated
works at every level not to have such an
accident in the future and to minimize the
risk. I have to say that the belief that accidents
never happen is wrong. I do not only
refer to mines. Life is full of risks; you can
conduct whatever tests you want. It is ideal
to minimize the accident ratio; but making it
zero is not possible in anywhere on the
earth.”
Another public statement, eagerly awaited,
came four days after the disaster. Facing the
cameras for the first time, Soma Holding
answered questions from local and foreign
press members. Having the company
authorities nearby, the CEO of the Soma
Holding Alp Gürkan made a painful confession
by saying, “In the mine, rescue chambers
would have been ready 3-4 months
later.” Arguing that they had no negligence
in the accident, authorities denied the claims
that they had employed subcontractor workers
and the transformer had exploded.
MINISTER YILDIZ MANAGED THE SOMA
CRISIS
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources
Taner Yıldız managed the crisis desk for the
Soma disaster. Talking to relatives of workers,
Yıldız shared the developments related
to the disaster with the Turkish and international
public on one side, while closely monitoring
all processes to take out the miners
and treating casualties on another. Yıldız
announced the cause of the disaster as follows
in the Parliament where investigation
proposals were discussed and accepted:
“It was one of the most significant accidents
of the mining sector in Turkey. And we,
with all our institutions, were there from the
beginning to the end. All our ministers who
arrived on the scene tried to manage the crisis
together with approximately 2600 persons.
After the accident, in addition to moral
support, financial support was also provided
to the families. While there is methane
gas at the center of the mine in Zonguldak,
there is heat in Soma. Coal burns internally
here. The circulation of air there resembles
the circulation of oxygen-poor blood which
is pumped around the body after being
enriched again by oxygen. In this mine, it is
as if oxygen-poor blood was pumped to the
cells. Operations stopped in that mine.
