Changing a Web Weight Value Changing a Web Weight Value Use the following procedure to add a new web weight or to change a web weight value already on the screen. 1. Select TRANSPORT. Web weight Transport 2. If the weight is displayed, change the weight. 3. If the paper weight has not been run before, use “Tightening the Web” on page 123 to correct the default tension settings. Note: “Tightening the Web” on page 123 is also recommended to adjust tension for heavy or light ink use, changed dryer temperatures, or humidity in the facility. 122 KODAK VERSAMARK <strong>VL2000</strong> Printing System
Tightening the Web Use this procedure after the printing system is webbed. These procedures can be used for any of the actions that follow. Tightening the Web • To use a paper type or weight that has not been run before • To adjust the settings for a print job that prints more or less ink than the previous print job • To adjust the settings for higher or lower humidity • To adjust the settings for higher or lower dryer settings • To correct the excessive paper drift (a sign of loose web tension) • To correct the excessive web breaks or snapping sounds while printing (signs of high web tension) Note: The procedure assumes all optional modules are installed. Some steps can be skipped if your printing system does not include optional modules. Operator’s Guide 123
