IJPDS Proofer
IJPDS Proofer
The Inkjet Printer Data Stream (IJPDS) Proofer is used to proof job files
created in the IJPDS and MPC formats that are used by KODAK
VERSAMARK Printing Systems. Job files with the *.iijp and *.mpc
extensions can be proofed to the application screen or printer, or they can
be saved as BMP, TIF, JPEG, or PDF files.
Regardless of the proofing output device selected, you can further tailor
the proof setup by specifying the RIPs and documents wanted by
specifying the magnification of the proof.
When proofing a job file to a printer, a variety of standard printing options
can be defined, such as the print range and the number of copies to be
printed. Graphical representations of the RIPs included in the proof can
also be printed.
The software provides several display options for jobs that are proofed to
screen. When multiple RIPs and documents are included in the proof,
select the RIP tool and document to be displayed on the screen. You can
also display preprint images, the bitmap bounding box, RIP boundaries,
and printhead stitch lines, or rotate the RIPs and documents currently
displayed on the screen. You can display the four color planes in each
process color RIP separately or merged.
Users should be familiar with the data preparation software that is being
used to produce the IJPDS and MPC job files.
PDF Transform
The PDF Transform software is used to convert PDF files and TIFF files
to the KODAK VERSAMARK IJPDS format used with KODAK VERSAMARK
Printing Systems.
The Web Layout component of the software performs the following tasks.
• Select the printing system configuration being used to print the job
• Define the web template dimensions
• Create the imposition signature
• Specify simplex or duplex printing
• Create cue marks to trigger printing
• Create trim marks for finishing
• Create color registration marks for color alignment
• Create messages for the production crew
• Create additional page buffers for larger documents
• Adjust image quality at the job or RIP level
• Initiate the IJPDS conversion Process
You can also define the printing system hardware capabilities and color
options available at your printing site. The printing system hardware
system can then be configured for specific job applications. These
configurations are saved to the WebLayout.sys file and can be used in
jobs with the same requirements.
The PDF Transform component of the program converts the PDF and
TIFF files to IJPDS.
