Changing Paper Rolls at the Rewind Unit
Unloading and loading paper at the rewind unit occurs frequently.
Typically an empty roll is already on the system, but if the system is being
started without paper, you can start loading paper at step 10. (Figure 54.)
Unloading Paper at the Rewind Unit
When the rewind unit has produced the correct size of roll or has reached
its rewind limit, the roll must be removed. When producing critical
documents it is advisable to finish the roll with some unprinted stock
wound on to the outer layers for protection. This also allows a small
unprinted leader to be wound onto the new core upon which splicing tape
can be applied.
