Setting Up the Controller Activity<br />

4. At the system controller, select Transport Page, and then use the<br />

Page Correlation screen and the substeps that follow to configure the<br />

feature.<br />

a. With the Check page correlation checkbox, enable the page<br />

correlation feature.<br />

b. With the Generate marks checkbox, enable printing of page<br />

correlation marks by printheads.<br />

c. If the Generate numbers checkbox is active, enable or disable<br />

printing a document number along with the page correlation<br />

marks.<br />

d. In the Position field, enter the location from the first line of the<br />

document where the page correlation mark is printed. Usually the<br />

location should be 1 /8 inch or further down the page.<br />

e. In the Height field, enter the size<br />

of each segment of the page<br />

correlation mark. This value can<br />

be 1 /8 to 1 /4 inch high.<br />

English - metric equivalents<br />

1 /16 inch 0.061 inch 0.159 cm<br />

1 /8 inch 0.125 inch 0.318 cm<br />

1 /4 inch 0.250 inch 0.635 cm<br />

f. In the Distance field, enter the<br />

distance of the sensors from the cue A sensor. (This distance is<br />

best determined with “Setting the Cue Delays” on page 255.)<br />

g. With the Sensor polarity buttons, select Normal or Inverted to<br />

match the proper sensor polarity. Normal polarity is more<br />

common.<br />

Note: If necessary, determine the proper polarity by checking the<br />

indicators on Tools Connections. Thye indicator is black when<br />

the sensor detects a mark (white when not detecting a mark).<br />

h. Select Apply.<br />

5. At the system controller, select Print and a printhead that prints<br />

black ink.<br />

6. Use the Print screen and the substeps that follow to configure the<br />

printhead.<br />

a. In the Mark position field, enter the location from the GS edge of<br />

the printed document where the page correlation mark is printed.<br />
