Messages
• Fixed Message - The data is a fixed message to be printed on
every document. Fixed messages can be included in the data file,
or you can select a fixed message from a scrollable list below the
Fixed Message button. (See” Messages”, below, for information
about fixed messages, including how to create, edit, or delete
them.)
• Font - Select the font in which the field is to be printed. Your choices
are limited to the font files in the font path specified in this window's
Summary display (see above). A description of the specified font is
shown to the right.
• Line Height - For a font with a zero inter-line spacing (ILS), you can
increase the line spacing by increasing the line height. For a font with
a non-zero ILS, you can decrease the line spacing to the point where
the resulting ILS is zero. You cannot decrease the line spacing to
result in a negative ILS which makes the lines overlap. You cannot
remove white space built into the font character cell.
• Rotation - Select the rotation for the field being defined. Each print
field can be rotated individually. There are four possible rotations
relative to the top-of-page position 0X,0Y. The illustration that follows
shows a text character in each rotation.
Upright is the normal orientation for fields. Normal text in an upright
field reads from left to right with the reader looking from the printhead
in the direction of substrate movement. Character orientation is font
dependent and can vary independently of field rotation; the examples
in the illustration show a character oriented upright in its cell or
bounding box.
Messages
Under the heading Fixed Messages, in the column at the left edge of the
tab, are listed the fixed messages for the current MPC job.
The CS410 system controller software stores up to 256 fixed messages
for each job. For a fixed message to print as part of a job, it must be
selected as the data source of a field as described above in “Printers”.
Editing a Message Use the steps that follow to edit an existing
message (such as Message 1).
