Air injection coupling
Used to inflate the bladder in the unwind shaft, which keeps the rolls
from spinning or traveling.
! WARNING
The Emergency Stop buttons remove the unwind ready signal from the
VL2000 transport. As a result, they initiate a fast stop on substrate
movement through the printing system. However, they do not stop
printhead carriage movement or fluid system operation.
Emergency Stop buttons
The unwind unit has four emergency stop buttons. two buttons are
located on the gear side (GS) of the unit, and the other two are
located on the operator side (OS). Pushing either emergency stop
button initiates an emergency stop condition in the VL2000 printing
system.
To reset an emergency stop, pull the button back out. Refer to
“Recovering From an Emergency Stop” on page 180 in Chapter 2 for
more information.
Drive belt
A belt that contacts the roll and adjusts the speed of unwinding the
roll.
The operator panel (see Figure 9) contains the following controls and
indicators:
