About our School
In our rapidly changing, increasingly complex
world of business, a new breed of business
leader is needed. One who will not only be
commercially astute but also visionary,
creative and ethical, and who will focus on
the needs of both business and society.
At Essex Business School we are nurturing
such leaders through our courses, which
take a fully rounded approach to business
education that recognises the mutuality
between business and society. In today’s
complex and interconnected world,
managers and senior executives need to
understand how the bottom line is affected,
not only by economic and financial

change, social and environmental factors,

Faced with a world where there are major
concerns about the viability and stability
of the global financial system, and where
a failure of corporate governance has
resulted in a demand for higher standards
of business ethics, we are well placed to
address the mutual relationship between
business and society because we embed
the values and practices of business
ethics, social responsibility, care for the
environment, and human rights in all
our courses.
Taught courses
We offer a range of taught courses if
you are seeking employment in industry,
commerce, the public and voluntary sectors,
and the financial services industries, as
well as if you are interested in pursuing an
interest in research or an academic career.
Our Masters courses include both
compulsory and optional modules, so
you can tailor the content of your course
to more closely fit your interests and
aspirations. Regular assessment by
coursework, presentations, case studies,
group work, tests and examinations provide
you with feedback on your progress,
culminating in the submission of a 15,000
word dissertation or comprehensive
business plan.

We have designed our MBA programme for
