Compulsory modules give you an
introduction to the theoretical and critical
approaches to accounting and financial
management, and you can build on this
foundation to extend your knowledge in
particular areas by choosing three optional
modules. This course will be useful if you
wish to pursue a career in industry,
commerce or professional services firms.
MSc Accounting and Management•
This course will broaden and deepen
your thinking about accounting and
management. You develop a broader
understanding of the changing roles and
perception of management and accounting
within the context of shifting societal values,
competing cultural influences and
ideological demands, dwindling natural
resources, globalised competition and the
increasingly widespread impact of
information technology.

Accounting courses
MSc Accounting•
This course develops your understanding
of advanced topics and methods in
accounting. You develop a clearer vision
and understanding of the changing role and
perception of accounting within the context
of changing global markets, competition
and shifting societal values.
We provide a broad educational programme
that prepares you to face the challenges of
managing and working in organisations
within a wide array of competing economic,
social, political and cultural conditions.
MSc Accounting and Finance•
This course develops your understanding of
advanced accounting together with finance
topics and methods. Compulsory modules
allow you to critically discuss many of the
recent developments in both theoretical
and empirical approaches to accounting
and corporate finance. You are also able to
pursue specialist interests with up to two
optional modules. Furthermore, in order to
prepare you for writing your dissertation,
there is a full year module on research
methodologies and methods, which includes
both quantitative and qualitative approaches
to empirical research.
Although this is a self-contained course,
if you successfully complete you will be
encouraged to continue your academic
studies by applying for a PhD.
MSc Accounting and Financial
Management•
Our MSc Accounting and Financial
Management should interest you if
you are without a first degree majoring
in accounting, as it is suitable for those
who previously studied business, economics
or other related subjects. We offer a
comprehensive grounding in corporate
reporting and analysis, and management
accounting and control.
Our MSc Accounting and Management
offers you a broad educational programme
that prepares you to face the challenges of
managing and working in a variety of
organisations, both within Europe and
internationally.
MSc International Accounting•
We have designed this course to broaden
your thinking about international accounting.
We develop your vision and understanding
of the changing roles and perception of
accounting within the context of changing

Our MSc International Accounting should
interest both home and international
students, and provides a broad educational
programme which prepares you to face the
challenges of managing and working in
organisations within a wide array of

The MRes programme•

and/or academia, so we equip you with
