MSc Survey Methods for Social Research<br />

covers all of the key topics in survey<br />

research, including sampling methods,<br />

questionnaire design, the management<br />

of the survey process and methods for<br />

analysing survey data. You also choose an<br />

optional topic from a range of modules in<br />

our Department or another social science<br />

discipline. Central to your studies is an<br />

emphasis on practical learning and<br />

experience, so you undertake a work<br />

placement in one of a number of<br />

professional research organisations,<br />

and are taught by academics and leading<br />

survey research practitioners.<br />

Graduate Certificate in Sociology•<br />

Our Graduate Certificate in Sociology is<br />

a nine-month course designed as a<br />

qualifying year if you need further study<br />

before embarking on your MA. We offer<br />

courses within sociology and criminology<br />

which cover the intellectual breadth and<br />
