profile
I came to the UK to study
MA Jungian and Post-Jungian
Studies at the University of
Essex because the course is
unique, one of the only ones of
its kind in the world. I also knew that the
academic staff in the Centre for
Psychoanalytic Studies were very highly
regarded in their fields, which was very
important to me. I have been a Jungian
scholar for some time, so wanted to
undertake this course to ensure that
I am up-to-date with the latest in
Jungian thinking.
I most enjoy the classes that I take,
which are run in a very stimulating and
engaging manner.
All of the other students on my course
are excellent and my whole experience
of living in the UK for the first time has
been brilliant.
After I have completed my studies at
Essex, I plan to return to Johannesburg
where I run a Jungian school. I intend
to bring the Jungian teaching
from my time at the University
of Essex to South Africa.

We offer a number of research

Most of our graduates are already
professionals, clinical and non-clinical, so
return to their existing fields, either in jobs
or further training, after studying with us.
You can also use our degrees to deepen
your understanding of your own work.
Our professional doctorates are offered
on a part-time basis in Analytical
Psychology, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. These
are currently available to psychotherapists
who are members of the British
Psychoanalytic Council or the Council
for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis
(a section of the United Kingdom Council
for Psychotherapy).
