Writtle College
The University of Essex validates awards at
Writtle College, one of the country’s leading
specialist institutions for a variety of areas
including: agriculture, animal and equine
science, design, horticulture, conservation
and management.
Our College is set in its own 220 hectare
estate with conservation areas, landscaped
gardens, design studios, animal, equine and
stud units, a farm, a science centre and
sport facilities. We have a fitness and
recreation centre, library and computer
facilities, including CAD systems. There is
a lively community atmosphere with over
2,500 students from over 40 countries and
halls of residence for up to 400 students.
Our College is located in the Essex
countryside with Chelmsford just two miles
away. London Liverpool Street is 40
minutes away, with trains departing
regularly from Chelmsford.
Each of our postgraduate programmes
are set within one of three schools: Sport,
Equine and Animal Sciences; Sustainable
Environments; and Writtle School of Design.
Our schools ensure that all postgraduates
are given extensive support in their study
area, and that there are opportunities to
continue personal development, as well as
gain a formal qualification.
