This course is the Masters element of an
ESRC-accredited pathway for our Doctoral
Training Centre, so is taught across our
School and our Institute for Social and
Economic Research, drawing upon
substantive and methodological expertise
from both areas. As well as providing
requisite training for our ESRC-funded
students, we offer a unique opportunity
for you to study within an interdisciplinary
environment.
Providing advanced postgraduate
training in survey research methodology,
this course would suit you if you want
to work as a social or market researcher,
or are already employed in this field and
wish to undertake further professional
development. You cover all the key topics
in survey research, including sampling
methods, questionnaire design, the
management of the survey process and
methods for analysing survey data. You can
also choose an optional topic from a range
of modules in our Department of Sociology
or from a different social science discipline.
MRes Health Studies•
We have designed this course to meet the
Economic and Social Research Council
(ESRC) requirements for Masters research
training. We provide you with advanced
research training in relation to health issues,
so it is suitable if you are anticipating a
research career in public or private sectors,
or wishing to continue to PhD level.
