The final goal of g<strong>at</strong>hering inform<strong>at</strong>ion is to provide a found<strong>at</strong>ion to provide<br />

theories or questions proposed in the research. Inform<strong>at</strong>ion resources can be divided<br />

into three parts as follow:<br />

a. Distributed sources<br />

b. Field sources<br />

c. St<strong>at</strong>istical sources<br />

Inform<strong>at</strong>ion about competitors can be obtained from the following:<br />

- Essays<br />

- Management speeches<br />

- Analyst reports<br />

- Interview with those who are in contact with competitors<br />

- Evalu<strong>at</strong>ing annual reports of competitors<br />

- Financial analyzing of four months regarding the main competitors<br />

- Competitors’ costs estim<strong>at</strong>ing<br />

- Summary of competitors' reports in planning process<br />

- Selling force and market<br />

Field resources used in this research are mentioned as above:<br />

a. Method of census or study the whole society<br />

b. Getting inform<strong>at</strong>ion by collecting samples<br />

In str<strong>at</strong>egic management, we should be in str<strong>at</strong>egic direction. Str<strong>at</strong>egic direction<br />

is rel<strong>at</strong>ed to long-term and short-term of organiz<strong>at</strong>ion and determines the goals of an<br />

organiz<strong>at</strong>ion. It is often described in a mission. Mission is a long-term part of planning<br />

processes into the organiz<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
