Similarly, indicators of energy access services are<br />

negatively correlated with poverty outcomes (as<br />

measured by the proportion of people living on less<br />

than $1.25 a day). In addition, a higher level of energy<br />

access contributes to poverty reduction; it is especially<br />

highly correlated with access to electricity in the <strong>Asia</strong>-<br />

Pacific region.<br />
