Greens may be the newer party but they are still just an old response to old issues. In
other words, is it more about doing it the Green way or NOT doing it the Republicrat
way? Few would argue that Greens, if in power, would create a better effect for the world
as a whole, but that ideal qualifier is not considered by most; Hawkish behavior makes
for a more entertaining The Government Show (an essay unto itself) than peace and
harmony.
Greens and Democrats are probably seen as the same by Republicans as well…
This 3 (2) way grudge match is zero sum. It's less and less process and more and more
spectacle. The Direct Democracy perspective is so far beyond the spectacle that I can
look at it objectively and accuse them all of being ill-conceived, subjectively well
intentioned, and therefore useless to the planet as a whole. Call me a bleeding heart
liberal treehugger; fact is, my life depends on the biosphere, not a billion dollar a day
military budget. Greens and I agree there, but we part ways on how to go about spending
a billion a day on a sustainable infrastructure, health care, education etc…
I know why the right hates the left and left right. Each contains stupid people who ruin it
for the reasonable/humble/aware/not-too-attached-to-labels crowd.
While conservatives, liberals and greens are busying themselves with popularity, failing
to acknowledge the valid points of all, there are people unsatisfied with any party asking,
"hey, y'know, maybe politicians, parties and three branches aren't necessary?"
Is your view really that of any party? Aren't there factions of your party or representatives
that you don't want to be associated with because, in consensus reality, you're seen as that
jerk too?
"Well what's the alternative? Communism, anarchy, monarchy, tyranny, oligarchy, blah
blah blah…ALL OLD IDEAS!
If I said "LETS BURN THE CONSTITUTION" – figuratively of course – some would
say how unpatriotic that notion is. Others would say the current political system is doing
just that. America is the result of people being proactively intolerant of their current
social system. Fortunately for them a pristine land was available for exodus, needing only
genocide and slavery to get them on their feet. They brought with them some old ideas
along with their ideal. Clearly native tribes of both continents were going to have to deal
with "new."
Tribal warfare was replaced with alliances with the invaders. The culture clash made old
new; that is, permaculture for us – guns and smallpox for them. I mention this because
history can and must repeat itself except all the bad stuff that goes with a revolution
needn't happen.
