THE TERMINATOR PARADOX, TIME LOOPS AND THE GE/C204
In the Terminator movies a paradox of time travel occurs which isn’t too obvious but
raises some questions. A damaged chip recovered from a cyborg sent back in time
eventually leads to the creation of that cyborg, so who conceived and built the whole
original chip in the first place? This may be viewed as a variation on the grandfather
paradox in that a time loop has eliminated causality for the time loop, the difference is
that biology has an obvious continuity that can be resolved with parallel
worlds/multiverse, the chip on the other hand has to be invented; the chip was never
invented yet it exists, how?
With this paradox it would seem that the chip design has to preexist as a meme in
hyperspace, that is, it is an eternal potential object at any point in our linear time.
