to relieve stress but some nights you settle for chilling on the couch…
The OTTOMAN – GENERATOR (OG) can resolve all the above scenarios and likely
more – 3 rd world market?
The OG is a self-contained place to rest your feet, a means to low-impact exercise the
upper and lower body, a generator, battery bank and/or ultra-capacitor, inverter and
outlet. Recessed caddies will hold remotes etc…It has a display that tells the consumer:
How many calories they have burned
How much money they are saving (by punching in their local utility’s Kw/h rate)
How much energy they are generating and discharging
As a means of supplementing the grid, an engineering goal will be something like, 30
minutes of slow and easy exercise will provide 3 hours of LCD TV and Xbox –
minimum. The OG will alert the user via beeping when its time to recharge/exercise.
To make it more user friendly, the OG will detect the draw (Fridges, Toasters, ACs and
other high draw appliances will not be plausible with one OG) and calculate how long it
will power the device/s with the current charge.
The OG will be designed to connect to others in parallel so that a large family or group,
so inclined, could generate enough energy to power larger appliances and become
independent of the grid.
